【USR】The Good Cycle of "You and I, Together"—Advocacy, Care, and Field Management for Community Sustainability - Anniversary Celebration - Project Promotion and Community Product Booth
On November 30, 2024 (Saturday), the project team held a "Project Promotion and Community Product Booth" event at the Boai Campus. The event was as follows: The "You and I Achieve Together" USR project team collaborated with students from the Department of Urban Industry Management and Marketing at the university to set up a booth on the school’s anniversary day. The purpose was to introduce and promote the project. The event was designed to present the core ideas of the project in an accessible manner to the university staff, students, and visiting community members, while also showcasing the team's accomplishments over the past year, including the therapeutic packages designed and produced by the team and the community handbook developed by the students. Additionally, the event focused on promoting the signature product of the Minquan Community Development Association, "One Bite Crisp," demonstrating how the project integrates academic resources with community assets to achieve the goal of co-creation and mutual prosperity. The event was filled with enthusiasm and interaction, highlighting the practical value of the project and conveying the warmth of social responsibility. The "You and I Achieve Together" USR project upholds the core spirit of "coexistence and inclusion," focusing on promoting community integration and sustainable development. The project team uses Minquan Community as the primary area of focus and aims to foster students' social responsibility through interdisciplinary collaboration, integrating mental health, art therapy, and community building. The booth activities were a reflection of the project’s values. The community handbook designed by the students presented the cultural features and historical context of the Minquan Community through simple text and illustrations, helping bridge the gap between the university and the community. The therapeutic package combined art creation with mental health elements, providing an innovative tool for emotional relief to the community’s residents, showcasing the practical application of university resources to improve quality of life. Another highlight of the event was the Minquan Community Development Association's signature product, "One Bite Crisp." This product symbolizes the collective effort of community residents and demonstrates the potential for revitalizing the local economy. Students and team members carefully explained the production process and cultural significance of the product, allowing buyers to appreciate the value behind it. Furthermore, part of the proceeds from the event was donated to the Rare Disease Foundation and the Minquan Community Development Association, continuing the "You and I Achieve Together" project’s goal of fostering community integration and social welfare. This arrangement not only aligns with the USR project’s commitment to sustainable development but also allows consumers to become part of a cycle of goodwill, giving deeper meaning to the act of purchasing. The event was lively, with students interacting warmly and actively promoting the values and achievements of the "You and I Achieve Together" USR project. By showcasing the handbook, therapeutic packages, and "One Bite Crisp," the students demonstrated their creativity and professional capabilities in practicing social responsibility. Meanwhile, project team members patiently explained the overall goals of the USR project and the development of the Minquan Community, sharing the challenges and breakthroughs encountered during the past year, allowing the public to gain a deeper understanding of how the project impacts through education and community collaboration. It is worth noting that the participating students generally expressed that the collaboration and the booth setting process not only enhanced their communication and marketing skills but also deepened their understanding of the importance of social responsibility. The project team believes that this event successfully built a bridge to raise awareness of the university's role in promoting sustainable community development, while also bringing the voice and values of the Minquan Community to the forefront. Overall, the "You and I Achieve Together" USR project booth activity on the anniversary celebration day was a perfect blend of academia and social practice. It provided a rich interactive experience for university staff, students, and visiting community members, while also achieving the project’s goals of promoting community development, local products, and giving back to society. In the future, the project team will continue to deepen collaboration with local communities, using diverse methods to transform academic research into social value, realizing the vision of coexistence and inclusion, and creating a more positive impact on society.
