On July 11, 2024 (Thursday), at the invitation of the Ministry of Education's University Social Responsibility (USR) Promotion Center and Kaohsiung Medical University, the team participated online in the 113th Annual Ministry of Education University Social Responsibility Joint Empowerment Event - Session 3: **"KAVIAZ TUMANANU! – International Diffusion of USR Influence."** This event aimed to promote the international spread of the University Social Responsibility (USR) concept and strengthen the role and impact of universities in social development. The event attracted faculty members, experts, and students from various schools and organizations, providing a platform for exchanging experiences and sharing knowledge. The event began with an opening speech from the Director of the Ministry of Education's USR Promotion Center, emphasizing the importance of USR in modern university education and its global impact. The representative from Kaohsiung Medical University then introduced the university’s efforts and achievements in promoting USR. These presentations not only showcased their own achievements but also offered valuable insights and inspiration for other participants. The USR implementation plan has now entered its third phase, with the scope of the USR project extending beyond the domestic sphere to the international stage. Through bilateral exchanges of experiences, the event provided an opportunity to assess the pros and cons of international social responsibility practices, enabling mutual learning and sparking motivation for the development of more domestic USR projects. Kaohsiung Medical University shared its collaborations with universities and organizations in countries such as the Philippines, Tanzania, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. This joint empowerment activity focused on showcasing the results of domestic USR project partnerships with international partners, inviting international collaborators to participate and learn how to ensure the sustainable development of the USR spirit. Throughout the event, there were several keynote speeches covering various aspects of USR, such as (1) showcasing the results of international cooperation projects, (2) learning how to generate international diffusion of USR influence, and (3) sharing sustainability development case studies from other countries to inspire the direction of USR practices. Participants shared their research findings and practical experiences, offering constructive suggestions. These discussions not only enriched participants' knowledge but also stimulated deep reflections on USR. The interactive format of these exchanges enhanced mutual understanding and cooperation, while providing new ideas and methods for future USR projects. The final segment of the event included a Q&A session, where experts and scholars from diverse fields gathered to discuss the future development of USR. Participants proposed constructive ideas on how to strengthen international cooperation in USR, promote knowledge sharing among countries, and better utilize USR in addressing global issues. Through this event, the project team deepened its understanding of the USR concept, made connections with like-minded individuals, and learned from each other, laying a solid foundation for future USR work. The team believes that with the continued hosting of such events, the influence of USR will continue to grow and have an increasingly profound global impact.
