International marine education

In the past 50 years, the development of Taiwan has included both continental and maritime cultures, but recently it has also faced problems such as an imbalance between supply and demand in the field of human resources training, the failure of school research and development to be carried out in the field, and the phenomenon of "emphasizing science and engineering and neglecting humanities" in the curriculum. On the other hand, general marine education, which aims to cultivate marine awareness, knowledge and culture among the people, is plagued with problems. Referring to the international trend of marine education, the author believes that there are still many shortcomings in our marine education policy, which should be improved. 1. The policy on marine education is too single-minded and neglects "informal" marine education. 2. Insufficient and poorly utilized marine experience courses. 3. Insufficient marine education orientation and publicity channels
