The first of the 2021 Taipei Science and World Culture Lecture Series was held on April 9, 2011. We invited Professor Yu-Liang Hsu of the History Department of Fu Jen University to deliver a speech on "Seeing Taipei in the Mountains and under the Sea". The place "Bali Ben" appeared in the ancient map of Taipei and the map of Kangxi of Qing Dynasty. Through the examination and discussion of the map of Taiwan in the late Qing Dynasty, the audience will travel through time and space, and explore the landscape and geomorphological changes of New Taipei City Bali in its early years, represent the historical field of Bali Ben’s river mouth.
