Seeing counseling center counselor Yu-Jun Hsie gave a talk on gender education in the Department of Early Childhood Education, University of Taipei, focused on the various gender issues in our daily life. He introduced the core concept of gender education: respecting all individuals and interacting with each other with mutual understanding and fully acceptance. He illustrated the cornerstone cases in Taiwan which facilitated the legislation of Domestic Violence Prevention Act and Gender Equity Education Act. He demonstrated the existence and prevalence of gender stereotypes in our life, and discussed all sorts of ways to improve the gender equality with students of our department.
