LEE MON-PUO CELLO MASTER CLASS
Taiwanese cellist Li Mengpo, born in Spain in 1993, was enlightened by Arancha Lopez at the age of four, and then studied under Fanica Sandu and Michal Dmchowski. In 2009, he entered the Royal Academy of Music of Spain and studied with Natalia Sakhovskaya and Ivan Monighetti. During his studies, Mengpo received a full scholarship (Department of Education of the Community of Madrid and Albéniz Foundation). He is currently studying at the Berlin University of the Arts under the supervision of Professor Jens Peter Maintz. Mengpo has won numerous awards at international competitions, 3rd place in the Brahms International Music Competition in 2013 and 1st Prize in the International Competition "Pedro Bote" in 2014. In 2015, he won the first prize and special prize at the International cello competition of Llanes, Spain, and at the end of the year, he won the second prize in the highly challenging Isang Yun competition in South Korea. In 2016, he won the first prize with Taiwanese pianist Yu Hanwen at the Kiejstut Bacewicz International Chamber Music Competition in Poland. In the same year, he won the first prize at the Berlin Philharmonic Debut Competition and the second prize at the Romanian Annesco Competition. three. In 2017, Meng Po was the winner of the 29th Chi Mei Art Award.
