The aesthetics of life and death in ancient Japanese swordsmanship - an aesthetic narrative about the "Sword of the Shogun" of the Tokugawa Shogunate

In the history of Japanese martial arts, "Yagyu Shinin-ryu" is one of the very few swordsmanship schools that can be called the "sword of the shogun". Its status in the history of Japanese martial arts lies not only in the fact that it was personally tested by Tokugawa Ieyasu and became the shogun of the past dynasties. The Guide to the Art of War is based on the military philosophy of "swordless attack" and "living sword" established by Yagyu Ishishu Sai Munegen, and it has become a well-deserved "sword of the general" in both theory and practice.
