Menga Forum|Cultural Creativity and Cultural Governance—Taking Ximen Red House, Movie Theme Park, and Bopiliao Historic District as Examples

Wanhua, formerly known as Monga, is the earliest developed area in Taipei City. It is rich in cultural and historical sites and temples, full of historical traces and imprints, and condenses the essence of the history and industrial development of the Wanhua area. This forum invites Wanhua to shoulder the local mission of developing cultural innovation and promoting tourism development: Li Zhiyong, director of the West City Operations Department of the Taipei City Cultural Foundation, takes cultural creativity and cultural governance as the main axis, and uses the management and revitalization of important cultural assets to discuss Vision as a cultural memory carrier for the West End. In the forum, the speaker positioned the development direction of the Ximen Red House, the movie theme park and the Bopiliao historical district respectively. Each has different governance goals, which are discussed below: (1) Ximen Red House|Western District Cultural Tourism Base—Cultural and Creative Cluster: Through the current four major development directions: cross-border art and cultural performance platform, Wanhua Menga Living Circle Consensus Group, West District Cultural Tourism Landmark and Chengxi Creative Living Cluster, we integrate different resources in the living circle to provide more refined service quality and At the same time, the goal of developing cultural tourism activities will be transformed into the effect of revitalizing and developing local business districts. (2) Movie theme park|Regeneration of friendly space—promotion of street culture: To provide a good platform and space as a base for artistic creation and street culture; with the "Ximen Street Field" and "Film Exchange Platform" as the main projects, it launches graffiti, hip-hop, skateboarding and other diverse activity courses and integrates them with colleges and universities Film and television major departments cooperate in screening promotion. By connecting local communities and regional characteristics, aspiring creators can give full play to their talents, and together we can make the artistic and cultural environment in the Ximen area prosper and benefit together. (3) Bopiliao Historic District|Rich historical context—educational exchange: Starting from "cultural education", it is positioned as a "cultural experience platform" through three major strategies: emphasizing the value of humanities and history, establishing cultural exchange and promotion channels, and providing local experience of culture; thereby achieving three major goals: innovative culture Stronghold, promoting humanities and video education and gathering local centripetal force. To sum up, by continuing to expand connections with surrounding cultural fields and integrating relevant resources with a focus on nearby regional characteristics, each other’s characteristic elements can be brought together and exchanged, with the goal of cultural promotion that inherits the past and connects the future, thereby enhancing Wanhua’s old and new exchanges The diverse cultural and creative quality allows the local spirit of Chengxi to be carried forward.
