"Grandpa Bear Baby Series Training Course"-Common infectious diseases and vaccinations in infants and young children
Yonghe District Civil Rights Community Development Association's "Grandpa Bear Baby-Infant Respite Care Service" brings together retired elders in the community to provide temporary care services. The project team hopes that through our participation, Grandpa Bear Baby can In order to enhance professional training and enhance service-related knowledge, the elder volunteers began planning and preparing the "Grandma Bear Baby Series Training Course" in July 2012. We hope to teach the elder volunteers the latest parenting knowledge through training. For this class, we invited Lu Mengzhe, the attending physician of Shuanghe Hospital, came to give an in-depth explanation to the senior volunteers about common infectious diseases in infants and young children and an introduction to vaccinations.After the professional training course, they all spent the last 20 minutes together to create a DIY baby bear clay. The clay can be pinched, molded, slapped, and swung. , it is friendly to the elders. In addition to training the grasping ability and muscle strength of the hands, it can also be used with some tools to create, train the fine movements of the fingers, and stimulate the creativity of the brain through the process of free creation. and imagination. During the course, Dr. Lu introduced that among the notifiable infectious diseases in Taiwan, 10 are common in young children, and some of them can easily cause babies to become seriously ill. The course explains: Chickenpox - infants less than 1 year old, pregnant women are at high risk of complications, measles - may cause Otitis media, pneumonia and encephalitis, German measles - infection in pregnant women may have serious consequences, dengue fever - Taiwan is a common area, enteric diseases Viruses - adults should also wash their hands well to protect children, viral gastroenteritis - common rotavirus, norovirus and adenovirus, salmonella infections - often occur in infants and children under 5 years old, influenza - please get vaccinated once a year , mumps - cases occur throughout the year, prevalent in people under 9 years old, whooping cough - common in infants and young children under 6 months of age, etc., so that senior volunteers can understand the symptoms of the disease and grasp it in time When to seek medical attention and learn how to effectively prevent it. The project team hopes that through Dr. Lu's health education promotion, elderly volunteers can teach children to establish good hygiene habits in their daily lives, such as washing hands frequently, wearing masks, avoiding contact with infected people, and keeping the environment clean and tidy. Additionally, learn about balanced diversity A healthy diet, adequate sleep, moderate exercise and reducing stress are all important factors in increasing children's immunity. It is hoped that through the series of lectures, the elderly volunteers will improve their new health knowledge and jointly safeguard the health and safety of children.
