Xu Weien Piano Collaboration Master Class

Xu Wei'en is active in the music scene as a pianist, organist, conductor, vocal director and composer. He graduated from the Music Department of the National Taipei University of the Arts, majoring in piano. He later graduated from the Juilliard School Graduate School in New York and was selected as the only exchange student from the Juilliard School to the Royal Academy of Music in London, England. He has won numerous awards in international music competitions, including the 2010 Los Angeles International Liszt Piano Competition and the Scott Huxley Piano Accompanist Award. He has also performed at various famous music venues, such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Lincoln Center, and Sydney. Opera House etc. Xu Wei'en is also the founder and musical director of the New York Pocket Opera Company and the executive director of the Metropolitan International Music Festival. Xu Weiyan currently teaches at the Department of Opera and Vocal Music, School of Music, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. In 2017, he was awarded the title of academician by the Royal Academy of Music in recognition of his contribution to the field of music. In 2018, he began to serve as the artist-in-residence of the National Academy of Music in Taiwan.
