Shio Ohshita Baroque Violin Master Class

Oshita Shiyang, a Japanese ancient violinist who has lived in Europe for many years, is the artistic director of The Gleam Ensemble Taiwan. In 2017, he won the first prize of the 18th Biagio Marini International Ancient Music Chamber Music Competition in Germany. He has been living in Europe since 2018. Taiwan, deeply engaged in baroque music education and performance in Taiwan. After Oshita Shio obtained a basic music education diploma from Hiroshima University, she went to the Karlsruhe Conservatory of Music in Germany to study modern violin in 2010. While in school, she developed a strong interest in ancient music and met with Swiss/Taiwanese ancient violin players. Anaïs Chen minored in Baroque violin, and then entered the Freiburg Conservatoire in 2013, majoring in Baroque violin with Gottfried von der Goltz, the founding concertmaster of the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, and then went to the Mozart State Conservatory of Music in Salzburg, Austria, to study with Midori Seiler finally entered the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where he studied medieval violin and medieval music with Professor Leila Schayegh and Randall Cook. While in school, he not only focused on Baroque music, but also studied medieval viola to classical viola. In 2016, he obtained the second master's diploma with excellent results from the Academy of Ancient Music in Basel. During her studies, she received the Manuin Charitable Foundation Scholarship and the Hiroshima Music Scholarship. Shiyang is active in Europe and participates in important European orchestras and music festivals, such as the Freiburger Barockorchester, and serves as the concertmaster of the Compagnia di Punto Orchestra in Cologne and the Karlsruhe Baroque Orchestra: her performance has been praised by Southwest Germany. Broadcasting company SWR and West German broadcasting company WDR recorded live and recorded the album.
