2024 "Early Childhood Aesthetic Education"

This presentation begins with addressing the challenges currently faced in the field of aesthetics, such as the emphasis on the production of works and tangible outcomes. However, there are two other goals that we need to address: perceive and interpretation. The instructor emphasized how elements of color including lightness and darkness, structure, and proportion can influence the way we perceive and interpret visual information. Finally, we went through Picasso's self-portraits from different stages of his life and using color blocks to assemble facial features of ourselves. This exercise will encourage us to think about how we can integrate such experiences into curriculum for young children, such as helping them explore self-awareness and understand emotions.
