The English Camp took place at Longshan Elementary School from 1/24 to 1/26. The team comprised 8 freshmen and sophomores from the English Teaching Department at the University of Taipei. It was a tough challenge for us who had never taught English for a whole lesson by ourselves. However, with our passion for teaching and the expectation of developing a successful event together, the eight team members took on this daunting task. We designed a variety of activities such as theme courses, sports game, treasure hunt, opening ceremony, and achievement presentation, to create an unforgettable camp experience for both students and teachers. We chose the Disney movie “Elemental” as the theme of our course, and designed several topics including architecture, holidays, weather, career, family members, and transactions. In addition to diverse interactive games during the class, we also designed competitions and sports games combined with the knowledge we taught in the class. We hope to integrate movies and daily situations and create a happy learning environment for children. In the achievement presentation, we show the students’ three-day learning results to the teachers and parents. Besides their static study sheets and small works, we also arranged a performance about the morning exercises. Our teacher also edited these three days into a touching videos. The wonderful presentation draws the English camp to a perfect end.
