921 Earthquake and Faults: Nantou Zhushan Fault Trench Preservation Hall
The activity was jointly planned by the university and the Geological Science Museum, featuring the following core elements: 1. Guided Tour of the Fault Trench Preservation Hall: Students closely observed the Zhushan trench profile and learned about the paleoseismic records of the Chelungpu Fault. Through a light sculpture film simulating the 921 Earthquake's tectonic changes, they experienced the scientific value of geological research and humanity's interdependence with nature. 2. Typhoon Toraji Special Exhibition: The exhibition reviewed the landslide disasters caused by Typhoon Toraji and the subsequent ecological restoration. It showcased historical photographs, survivor oral histories, and a simulated National Highway culvert landscape, guiding students to reflect on hydrological disaster prevention and management. 3. Electromagnetic Vision 2.0 Special Exhibition: Interactive displays and electromagnetic wave monitoring data enabled students to understand the scientific operation of high-voltage transmission towers and the impact of electromagnetic waves. Through engaging activities, they explored the fundamentals and applications of electromagnetic science. This activity fostered interdisciplinary thinking among students, integrating knowledge from seismology, meteorology, and energy science, offering a comprehensive experience of the intersection between nature and technology.
