The lecturer firstly introduced her experience in the Chinese Language Department, which brought out the interests and skills she had developed in the Department. She then described her journey of running a bookstore, the difficulties she encountered in running the bookstore or the resources she needed, and how the interests and skills she developed in the Chinese Department helped her in overcoming these difficulties and finding the resources she needed. The lecturer told the students that the things they learned in the Chinese Department may not seem practical, but they can be utilized when they encounter certain things in the future, and encouraged them to cultivate their interests and develop their skills during their college years.
