【USR Hub】"Taipei City University 1+101" Taipei Net-Zero Collaboration Platform Project - Google My Maps and Sustainable Living Circle Planning

"Sociology" is a required first-year course for students in the Department of Metropolitan Industry Management and Marketing. The course aims to teach students how to collect and analyze factors that influence social change. The instructor integrates this course into the university's social responsibility project, where, during the semester, students are taught to use the Google My Maps tool. They will combine data from student surveys to plan a low-carbon living circle in the Tianmu area. The course structure is as follows: 1.Tool Training (October 8, 2024, 3:10 PM - 5:00 PM): Introduction to the basic functions of Google My Maps Layer creation and management Point annotation and attribute settings 2.Thematic Mapping (October 15, 2024, 3:10 PM - 5:00 PM): Importing student-surveyed landmark data Categorizing and annotating different types of facilities (education, commerce, leisure, etc.) Drawing pedestrian-friendly zones Creating green transportation routes 3.Presentation and Discussion (October 22, 2024, 3:10 PM - 5:00 PM): Analyzing the accessibility of daily life facilities Exploring the potential for reducing transportation-related carbon emissions Proposing recommendations for optimizing the living circle Features and Innovations: 1.Use of a map tool familiar to students 2.Integration of field survey data 3.Development of practical low-carbon living solutions Learning Objectives: 1.Master the skills of using Google My Maps 2.Understand the principles of living circle planning 3.Cultivate sustainable transportation planning capabilities
