【USR Hub】"Taipei City University 1+101" Taipei Net-Zero Collaboration Platform Project - ArcGIS Online Carbon Emission Spatial Analysis
"Sociology" is a mandatory first-year course for the Department of Urban Industry Management and Marketing. The course aims to teach students how to collect and analyze factors that influence social change. The instructor incorporates the course into the university’s social responsibility program, teaching students how to use ArcGIS Online for advanced spatial analysis. This course builds on the previous two sessions where students utilized the Ministry of the Interior’s Social Economic Data Service Platform and Google My Maps, and applies the results to assess carbon emissions in the Tianmu area. The course structure is as follows: 1.Introduction to Advanced Tools (November 5th, 3:10 PM - 5:00 PM): Introduction to ArcGIS Online spatial analysis tools Using hotspot analysis tools Data visualization techniques 2.Integrated Analysis Practice (November 12th, 3:10 PM - 5:00 PM): Importing results from the previous two sessions Analyzing the relationship between building density and carbon emissions Creating carbon emission hotspot maps Building spatial statistical models 3.Policy Recommendations Discussion (Expected at the end of the semester): Interpreting the spatial analysis results Identifying key carbon reduction areas Proposing specific policy recommendations Features and Innovations: 1.Use of professional GIS tools 2.Integration of diverse data sources 3.Development of evidence-based policy recommendations Learning Objectives: 1.Master advanced spatial analysis methods 2.Understand the spatial distribution of carbon emissions 3.Develop policy planning capabilities
