This Carbon Inventory Course was taught by President Yu Zongze of Wanhua Community University and Carbon Inventory Consultant Feng Zheming. The course was both comprehensive and practical. President Yu Zongze began by sharing his journey from "carbon confusion" to "carbon anxiety." He described the common sense of uncertainty that individuals and societies often experience regarding climate change and explored how this can transform into a sense of urgency over carbon emissions. He emphasized the importance of raising carbon awareness and continuous learning, encouraging participants to actively seek solutions. Consultant Feng Zheming then provided an in-depth explanation of global warming and its impact on us. He explained how greenhouse gases affect the Earth's climate and emphasized the role and responsibility of individuals and organizations in reducing carbon emissions. Consultant Feng introduced the basics of greenhouse gas management, demonstrated the process of measuring carbon emissions, and shared real-world case studies. Finally, Consultant Feng outlined the procedures for conducting a greenhouse gas inventory at the organizational level. This included detailed steps from determining the scope of the inventory to developing improvement plans. He highlighted the importance of internal collaboration and discussed how to address common challenges.
