【USR Hub】"Taipei City University 1+101" Taipei Net-Zero Collaboration Platform Project - 1130806 Carbon Inventory Course
This carbon inventory course covered key steps in conducting a carbon inventory, divided into the following sections: 1.Defining Organizational and Reporting Boundaries: This section explained how to define organizational boundaries, including the control method, equity share method, and determining reporting boundaries. The goal was to ensure that all significant emission sources are included in the inventory to achieve comprehensive and accurate carbon accounting results. 2.Establishing a Baseline Year: This part focused on the selection of a baseline year and its role in comparing and measuring changes in carbon emissions. The emphasis was on choosing a representative year with reliable data to establish a solid baseline for carbon emission analysis. 3.Identifying Direct and Major Indirect Emission Sources: This section guided participants on how to identify and categorize direct emission sources and major indirect emission sources. The importance of conducting a thorough identification of emission sources was highlighted to ensure the integrity and completeness of the inventory results. 4.Choosing Emission Calculation Methods: Participants were introduced to various carbon emission calculation methods, including emission factor methods, mass balance methods, and direct monitoring methods. The course explained how to select the appropriate calculation method for an organization and how to handle and analyze data to accurately estimate carbon emissions. These topics not only provided the theoretical foundation of carbon inventories but also included practical exercises to help participants master the necessary skills, effectively enhancing their carbon management capabilities.
