【USR Hub】"Taipei City University 1+101" Taipei Net-Zero Collaboration Platform Project - 1130812 Carbon Inventory Course

The following are key steps and methods when conducting a carbon inventory: 1.Collecting Activity Data and Supporting Documentation: (1) Activity Data Collection: Gather all relevant data related to carbon emissions, including energy consumption, raw material usage, and waste generation. This data should come from reliable internal records such as energy bills, operational reports, and logistics data. (2) Supporting Documentation: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the data by collecting supporting documents such as contracts, invoices, and measurement reports. These help verify the authenticity of the collected data. 2.Selecting Appropriate Emission Factors for Emission Calculation: (1) Emission Factor Selection: Choose suitable emission factors based on the activity type and emission source. Emission factors are parameters used to convert activity data into carbon emissions, typically provided by environmental agencies or standard organizations. (2) Calculation Method: Combine the collected activity data with the selected emission factors and apply appropriate formulas to estimate carbon emissions. For example, multiplying energy consumption by the corresponding emission factor yields the carbon dioxide emissions. (3) Inventory Year: January 1st to December 31st: Define the annual scope of the inventory, covering the entire year from January 1st to December 31st. This ensures the comprehensiveness of the inventory and allows for accurate assessment of carbon emissions over the year. (4) Data Organization and Reporting: Organize the collected data for the entire year, ensuring that all emission sources are included in the report. After completing the emission calculations, prepare the carbon inventory report, summarizing the carbon emissions for the year and providing improvement suggestions. These steps help ensure the accuracy and completeness of the carbon inventory, enabling the organization to effectively manage and reduce carbon emissions.
