【USR Hub】"Taipei City University 1+101" Taipei Net-Zero Collaboration Platform Project - 1130720 Junior-Level Net Zero Carbon Planning Manager Certification Coaching Program

In the third week of the Net-Zero Carbon Planning Manager (Junior) Certification Guidance Course, we were once again honored to have Dr. Huang Wen-hui, Director of Carbon Management Technology at the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), to lead the lesson. This session covered the same topic as the second week: Certification Evaluation Topic 2 - Net-Zero Carbon Inventory Standards and Procedures Overview. Dr. Huang began by analyzing the international trends and domestic development status of product carbon footprints, as well as the domestic and international carbon reduction pressures that businesses will face. He then provided an in-depth explanation of the key points of ISO 14067:2018 and clarified the definition of carbon footprint and the differences between carbon footprint and carbon inventory. Next, he introduced many important terms and their definitions, including the purpose and content of the CFP research report. He also discussed Product Category Rules (PCR) and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), explaining product system boundaries and providing examples of life cycle stages. To better illustrate the LCA impact assessment framework, Dr. Huang used images to explain its structure. Following that, Dr. Huang detailed the data collection and organization methods for product carbon footprint inventory, covering activity data inventory types, data allocation, and data organization for various stages. Finally, he summarized the product carbon footprint inventory calculation, explained the content that should be included in the inventory report, and provided answers to exercises as the conclusion of the third-week session.
