【USR Hub】The “Tianmu Studies” Based on Culture, Life, and Environment: Imagining Low-Carbon Resilient Communities and Local Livable Systems - Exploration of Local Knowledge (2) Community Planning and Urban Planning: A Case Study of the Shilin Shennong Temple Area
The speaker delves into the importance of urban planning and community development, focusing on the Shilin Shenlong Temple area as a concrete case study. By analyzing the current state of community development and the urban planning needs in this area, participants gained a deeper understanding of how urban planning is critical to community development. The discussion covered historical and cultural context, land ownership structure, and public transportation planning in the Shilin Shenlong Temple area, allowing participants to gain a clearer understanding of the area's characteristics and development potential. The speaker then supplemented the discussion by introducing relevant regulations and action strategies, emphasizing the importance of understanding legal requirements for the smooth progress of urban planning. Action strategies such as public participation and community collaboration were suggested to promote involvement and consensus among community members, ensuring the successful implementation of urban plans. This lecture provided participants with insight into the relationship between urban planning and community development, exploring how local knowledge, legal regulations, and action strategies can contribute to the sustainable development of communities through a concrete case analysis.
