In this workshop, Director Chiu Chia-Hui from Taipei Medical University’s General Education Center conducted practical course design operations, using thinking tools to assist the planning process, ensuring that course design was more closely aligned with social trends. Associate Professor Tu Min-Fen from Tamkang University's Center for Sustainable Development and Social Innovation shared the innovative service design course of the "Good Life in Tamsui" USR project, tightly linking course content with field creation. The dynamic forms, from adventure games to board games, simultaneously achieved the dual goals of USR practice and academic research. Assistant Professor Zhang Xiong-Sheng from Soochow University shared the practice track of the "Old Shilin New Symbiosis" USR project, which involved long-term immersion in the Shilin community to conduct cultural change surveys, offering home care and long-term care services, bringing positive impacts to the local community. Director Pu Yan-Guang from Ming Chih University of Technology's General Education Center discussed how to establish incentive mechanisms to encourage faculty to offer social practice courses, creating a favorable environment. Professors Chen Ying-Feng and Lin Zi-Chao from Chinese Culture University shared the "Bright Peaks" project and interdisciplinary curriculum design. Through this cross-school workshop and dialogue, the goal was to inspire innovative ideas for sustainable development education and local practice. By strengthening the link between interdisciplinary curricula and social practice, the workshop empowered students to develop design thinking and a sustainability-focused perspective, encouraging them to confront and solve complex issues. The "USR Practice Path: Sustainability, Inclusion, and Curriculum Innovation Design" cross-school SIG workshop aims to provide diverse perspectives, balancing the realization of a sustainable and inclusive society with innovative education. It is hoped that through more practical exchanges and mutual verification of practice, local knowledge will be accumulated and continuously passed down.
