【USR Hub】The “Tianmu Studies” Based on Culture, Life, and Environment: Imagining Low-Carbon Resilient Communities and Local Livable Systems - 1130718 Urban Design from the Perspective of Environmental Behavior and Bodily Interventions
0900-1100 Spatial Landscape and Development (Professor Liu Hui-Fang) 1100-1200 Environmental Behavior Studies (Professor Guo Wei-Lun) 1230-1630 Environment and Urban Design (Professor Liu Hui-Fang) 1630-1730 Architecture and Life (Professor Luo You-Cheng) This event is led by Professor Guo Wei-Lun from National Ilan University, Professor Luo You-Cheng from Chinese Culture University, and Professor Liu Hui-Fang from Taipei City University. They each give lectures on spatial landscape and environmental behavior studies. Professor Guo takes Japan as an example and leads us through various elements of urban environments, such as streets and buildings, to understand how the environment influences behavior, and how behavior impacts the environment. He discusses considerations in urban planning related to behavior, such as building color design and public space planning. By understanding the relationship between the environment and behavior, urban planners can improve the quality of environments and user satisfaction in future urban development. Following this, Professor Liu Hui-Fang introduces environmental behavior studies as a field that investigates the interaction between humans and their surrounding physical environments. She discusses how this discipline can be applied to urban design, the analysis of public space usage patterns, the basic principles of environmental psychology, and how to consider the needs of different groups during the design process. She uses the Zhuangwei Sand Dune Tourism Service Park as an example to illustrate her points. Lastly, Professor Luo You-Cheng from Chinese Culture University teaches about the architectural structure of service centers, helping attendees understand architect Huang Sheng-Yuan's architectural vision and the development of regional architecture.
