【USR Hub】Playful by Name, Promising a Joyful Life in West Taipei - Management and Practice of Playful Urban Marketing - Application and Practice of Virtual Reality (VR) in Museum Exhibitions
Immersive tours offer visitors an engaging experience, allowing them to explore virtual historical scenes, reconstructed monuments, or simulated natural environments. Remote visits enabled by VR technology eliminate geographic limitations, allowing visitors to virtually tour museums worldwide and enjoy exhibitions, especially during the pandemic or other special circumstances, providing a safe alternative. Interactive learning through VR, when combined with interactive elements, can enhance the learning experience. Cultural heritage preservation and exhibition: VR can be used to showcase cultural heritage that has either disappeared or is under threat. This technology not only helps preserve cultural assets but also presents them to the public in innovative ways. Virtual reality opens up unprecedented possibilities for museum exhibitions. It not only enhances visitor engagement and interactivity but also broadens the ways in which cultural assets can be presented. However, its application faces challenges such as funding, technology, and content maintenance. Through continuous exploration and innovation, VR technology will become an integral part of future museum displays, bringing more possibilities for cultural dissemination and education.
