【USR】The Good Cycle of "You and I, Together"—Advocacy, Care, and Field Management for Community Sustainability - 113th Annual Ministry of Education University Social Responsibility Joint Empowerment Event - [Effectiveness Evaluation Online Study Group]

On Thursday, July 23, 2024, at the invitation of the Ministry of Education's University Social Responsibility (USR) Promotion Center, the team participated online in the 113th Annual Ministry of Education USR Joint Empowerment Event - *"Effectiveness Evaluation: A Must-Have Course for University Sustainability"* Online Study Group. The event invited the book's editor, Professor Minfen Tu, to lead a discussion on the book's editorial concept and guide us on how to use the book effectively. Professor Tu shared that effectiveness evaluation work for universities might be seen as a "familiar stranger." While universities may have some familiarity with the task of effectiveness evaluation, there is also a significant amount that is unknown or unclear. However, in the face of this important and extensive work, universities undoubtedly need to invest significant effort in understanding the meaning of effectiveness evaluation. This event aimed to help university USR project teams grasp the basic concepts of effectiveness evaluation, become familiar with the structure of the book, and learn how to use it as a guide. It is hoped that this book will become a reference guide for universities planning their own effectiveness evaluation work. After participating in the *"Effectiveness Evaluation: A Must-Have Course for University Sustainability"* Online Study Group, the project team deeply realized the responsibilities and challenges that universities face in promoting sustainable development. During the study group, experts and scholars detailed various evaluation methods and shared practical case studies, which gave the project team a deeper understanding of how to quantify the effectiveness of university social responsibility programs. Additionally, interactions with other participants allowed the team to learn about innovative practices and successful experiences from other universities in implementing sustainable development programs. This event not only enhanced the team's knowledge but also inspired their enthusiasm for participating in and promoting campus sustainability efforts in the future. The team is confident that each individual can contribute to this important cause.
