Meeting Minutes: Third Discussion for "Active Aging & Craft Workshop" On November 19, 2024 (Tuesday), the project team met with Executive Director Chiu of the Minquan Community Development Association in Yonghe District to discuss details for the "Active Aging & Craft Workshop." The key points from the meeting are as follows: Workshop Overview The "You and Me, Together We Thrive" USR project by the University of Taipei, in collaboration with the Minquan Community Development Association, plans to host the "Active Aging & Craft Workshop" in mid-to-late November. The workshop will involve seniors creating **One Bite Pastries** and personalized handmade tote bags. 1. Objectives To promote active aging, foster a sense of well-being among seniors, and encourage artistic creation. The workshop aims to create a warm and interactive platform where seniors can connect and engage meaningfully through the crafting process. 2. Event Flow - Morning Session: - Volunteer instructors from the association will demonstrate how to make One Bite Pastries. - Participants will then be divided into groups, pairing seniors with volunteers for hands-on collaboration. - The session will conclude with a sharing and feedback session, encouraging participants to exchange stories and reflections. - Afternoon Session: - The project team will guide seniors in creating personalized tote bags, fostering intergenerational artistic expression and interaction. 3. Venue - Proposed Location: Minquan Community Activity Center. - Selected for its accessible facilities and suitability for hosting handcraft activities, ensuring convenience for senior participants. 4. Materials and Budget - Materials to be purchased include flour, oils, fillings, and other necessary ingredients for pastry-making, as well as supplies for tote bag crafting. - Additional equipment and disposable supplies need to be prepared in advance. - The budget will be calculated based on the number of participants. 5. Participants - Total Participants: Approximately 40 people. - 30 seniors, with the remaining 10 comprising project team members and community volunteers. - Participants will be pre-assigned to groups to facilitate smooth collaboration during the event. 6. Volunteers and Support** - Roles: - The project team and university faculty/students will serve as volunteers, assisting with venue setup, material preparation, event facilitation, and post-event cleanup. - Members of the Minquan Community Development Association will coordinate venue arrangements and senior participation. 7. Risk Assessment - Emergency medical supplies will be available during the event, along with contingency plans to address any unforeseen incidents. - Venue inspections will prioritize safety, ensuring an accessible and comfortable environment for seniors. 8.
