A team of eight first- and second-year students from the English Teaching Department of University of Taipei organized the “Outstanding Young Talents English Camp”, which took place from January 22 to January 24 at Longshan Elementary School in Taipei. For us, who had never taken on the role of a teacher before, this was an extremely challenging task. However, fueled by our passion for teaching and the excitement of organizing an educational event, we devoted ourselves wholeheartedly to creating an English camp filled with joy and learning for the children. This year’s camp welcomed 30 students from grades one to five at Longshan Elementary School. The curriculum was inspired by elements from the movie Inside Out and covered a variety of themes, including food, transportation, colors, weather, clothing, musical instruments, and sports. Through engaging interactive games, we guided students in learning English naturally. Additionally, we designed a themed treasure hunt and a sports competition, allowing students to immerse themselves in real-life scenarios where they could apply their English skills while experiencing the connection between language and everyday life. Beyond the diverse lessons, we carefully planned an opening ceremony, a closing ceremony, and a treasure hunt to add more excitement and surprises to the camp. During the closing ceremony, students presented their learning achievements to teachers and parents, showcasing worksheets and creative projects, performing an energetic morning exercise routine, and reliving precious memories through a specially edited camp highlight video.
