Carbon Pricing and Its Relationship to Us
This lecture provided an in-depth exploration of carbon pricing mechanisms, analyzing global net-zero policies and challenges while emphasizing the economic and environmental impacts of carbon taxes, carbon fees, and emissions trading. It also examined the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and how market and policy tools can drive green transitions. This lecture closely aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly: SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy): Advocates for energy transition and the development of low-carbon and renewable energy. SDG 13 (Climate Action): Discusses carbon reduction policies, emphasizing economic incentives and governance models. SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production): Promotes the polluter-pays principle and sustainable production and consumption. By providing academic and policy perspectives on carbon pricing's impact on Taiwan and the world, this lecture offers valuable insights for students interested in climate change and sustainability.
