The 3-day Excellence Talent English Winter Camp was held from January 22 to 24 at Taipei Municipal Datong Elementary School. This camp was led by 8 members of the Department of English Language Instruction at University of Taipei, guiding 30 children through engaging courses and activities that encourage teamwork and critical thinking skills. Although the children initially appeared somewhat shy and unfamiliar with each other, they gradually built rapport and friendships under the guidance of their counselors. Throughout the three days, the camp offered a diverse and rich curriculum covering a wide range of learning experiences, including topics such as transportation, occupations, food, emotions, colors, animals, sports, and weather. Each lesson was designed to go beyond traditional teaching methods, actively engaging the children in interactions to spark their interest and motivation for learning. In addition to the exciting lessons, we also organized various activities such as a sports day, treasure hunt, opening ceremony, and closing ceremony, aiming to leave both students and teachers with wonderful and unforgettable memories of the camp. We held the treasure hunt and sports day on the playground, where we witnessed the children's enthusiastic participation in every challenge, sweating and showcasing their boundless energy. The theme of this camp was brain teasers, aiming to make learning more vivid and engaging by incorporating familiar movie characters. At the closing ceremony, we showcased the children's work from the past three days to the parents, allowing them to witness and share in the children's growth and joy. We would like to thank all the teachers and staff at Datong Elementary School for their assistance and guidance, as well as the children for their active participation and boundless energy throughout the three days. Lastly, we would like to express our gratitude to the team members for their dedication and hard work in preparing for and running the camp. Without their efforts, the camp would not have concluded so successfully.
