To deepen its connections with high schools, the University of Taipei has actively promoted the “High School Student Department Exploration Program.” Led personally by President Chiu Ying-Hao, the program features a team of professional professors from various colleges who visit high schools to provide tailored department introductions and higher education guidance for different specialty classes. The University of Taipei not only offers a wide range of academic programs but also strives to cultivate future talents with practical skills and innovative thinking. In March of this year, the University of Taipei specifically targeted specialty classes at Datong High School and Chung Cheng High School, including departments in science and technology, sports, music, art, and dance. The program provided detailed introductions on department courses, research fields, and future development. In addition to these specialty classes, professors from 21 departments, including marketing, urban development, health and welfare, psychology, visual arts, educational materials, special education, Chinese, public policy, geography, history, sports science, English education, mathematics, computer science, and chemistry, visited the campuses. This allowed high school students to fully understand the unique features of each department and helped them grasp key information for their future academic pursuits. Moreover, the program included a Q&A session, giving students the chance to interact with professors and receive answers to their questions about academic advancement and future career development. Through this interactive format, students gained a deeper understanding of the learning atmosphere and characteristics of each department. President Chiu Ying-Hao stated that the university hopes to enhance high school students’ understanding of the University of Taipei by providing comprehensive department introductions and admissions information. He also emphasized the importance of fostering communication and cooperation between universities and high schools to build stronger, more collaborative relationships.
