Taiwan's rapidly aging population and low birth rate have made it difficult for universities to recruit new faculty and enroll students, while funding has not been raised. The academic and research community has not been able to clearly define its values and goals, and research has been detached from society, resulting in more complaints than solutions. For the new approach that should be taken in the future, the speaker suggested that the first to set good goals, such as touching people's hearts, serve the community, according to the goal to set up an effective assessment mechanism, give appropriate encouragement, in order to achieve a positive cycle; the goals of the university include training of talents, create knowledge, contribute to society, the professors should have the goal of cultivating problem-solving talents, create knowledge to lead the domestic and foreign similar research to solve problems of the humanities, social, scientific, technological and other issues, science, technology, etc., in order to contribute to society.
