In order to cultivate students’ professional competence and performance skills in ethnic dance, the Department of Dance has organized an Ethnic Dance Proficiency Assessment as a key evaluation of this semester’s learning outcomes. The assessment aims to evaluate students’ understanding of various ethnic dance styles, movement characteristics, and cultural significance, with an emphasis on accuracy of movement, sense of rhythm, expressive interpretation, and overall stage performance. The panel of judges is composed of both full-time and part-time faculty members from the department. Evaluations are conducted based on clearly defined scoring criteria, and constructive feedback is provided to help students recognize their strengths and areas for improvement. Through this assessment, students can deepen their understanding and performance experience in ethnic dance, while instructors can better assess the effectiveness of their teaching and further enhance instructional quality.
