【USR】Integration and Diffusion of Medical-Elderly Care and Higher Education Perspectives: Constructing a Social Prescription and Linking Worker Innovation and Development Hub - Thailand Student Exchange Program I

The “Thailand Student Exchange Program” was conducted entirely in English, aiming to promote educational exchange and cultural understanding among international students. The event began with an introduction by the faculty, highlighting the school’s unique features, curriculum goals, and talent development strategies, as well as sharing their own research topics and graduate students’ research directions. Following this, graduate students from the Institute of Leisure Studies gave self-introductions, covering their professional backgrounds, athletic expertise, and research focuses. Thai students also introduced the features of their home universities, their own areas of expertise, and their understanding and practice of social prescribing and occupational therapy. To foster interaction, the first half of the event featured group ice-breaking activities, while the second half included a Boccia (floor ball) experience. Students from the Institute of Leisure Studies introduced the rules and organized team competitions, with each team composed of both local and Thai students. The boccia activity emphasized teamwork and strategic thinking, being originally designed for individuals with disabilities but suitable for all participants. At the end of the event, the Thai students shared their reflections, expressing that it was their first time experiencing boccia and that they found it both novel and highly inclusive—especially well-suited as an indoor activity for Thailand’s hot climate. They also praised the university’s inclusive education practices and hands-on curriculum design. This program not only enhanced students’ bilingual communication and international awareness but also promoted the integration of disability-friendly and mainstream sports, opening new possibilities for future educational collaboration.
