【USR】Integration and Diffusion of Medical-Elderly Care and Higher Education Perspectives: Constructing a Social Prescription and Linking Worker Innovation and Development Hub - 2025 International Symposium on Compassionate Community and Meaning-Making in Grief Therapy

The “International Symposium on Compassionate Community and Meaning-Making in Grief Therapy” was held at the International Conference Hall of Taipei City Hospital, Wanhua Branch, with simultaneous online participation. The symposium brought together over one hundred participants, including domestic and international experts and scholars from diverse fields such as psychology, social work, healthcare, and religion, reflecting strong engagement and fruitful interdisciplinary exchange. The symposium covered four major themes: the practical application of compassionate care, the use of meaning-centered therapy in grief support, the understanding of cross-cultural grief experiences, and the construction of community support systems. Through keynote speeches and practical sharing, participants deepened professional knowledge and proposed localized strategies for grief support as well as models for cross-disciplinary collaboration. This symposium emphasized that in facing grief and loss, compassionate understanding should serve as the foundation for supportive care, with “meaning-making” highlighted as a crucial direction in grief healing. The event aspired to promote a more integrated and human-centered community-based grief care network.
