Cultivating STEAM Abilities through Play:Practical Designs for Early Childhood STEAM Curriculu
The lecturer began the presentation by posing the question, “Why is STEM important in our daily lives?” to guide the graduate students in reflecting on the connection between STEM and everyday experiences. Following this, the lecturer explained the core meaning of STEM and STEAM in early childhood education, highlighting how children start by observing problems in their daily lives and then engage in processes of trial, experimentation, and adjustment to find solutions. To illustrate this, the lecturer introduced several practical kindergarten teaching examples, including the STEAM projects of paper airplane and blowing bubbles—to demonstrate how STEAM concepts are applied in real classroom settings.
