The workshop Practical Workshop on Qualitative Research Design and Analysis aimed to equip participants with both theoretical foundations and practical skills. It began with an emphasis on problem awareness and core concepts, illustrating how research questions shape methodological choices and depth of interpretation. The session introduced five major qualitative approaches and strategies for research design, including question formulation, data collection, and analysis procedures, providing participants with a comprehensive framework. Special focus was given to qualitative interviewing and research quality, while contemporary trends such as rapid qualitative research and AI tools were highlighted to encourage reflection on the transformation of qualitative inquiry in the digital era. A practical exercise on reflexive thematic analysis allowed participants to experience coding and theme generation firsthand. The workshop concluded with an appendix on the structure of qualitative research papers, strengthening participants’ academic writing skills. By integrating theory and practice, the workshop enabled participants to better understand and apply qualitative research methods.
