This lecture was delivered by Professor Chia-Hui Wu from the Department of Music at Fu Jen Catholic University, with the topic “An Analysis of Musical Play Behaviors in Early Childhood Music Therapy.” The speaker shared research focusing on children with emotional and behavioral difficulties, exploring their instrumental play behaviors and psychological meanings within music therapy sessions. Consensual Qualitative Research method was employed in this study. Through video observations and qualitative analysis, the study revealed children’s autonomy, exploratory tendencies, and patterns of interaction with the therapist, emphasizing that musical behaviors can serve as an important basis for psychological assessment and understanding of emotions.
