Boundless Introspection: Kuan Te Wu’s Path of Art

In this lecture, we were honored to invite Director Kuan Te Wu, head of the People’s Art Museum, to share his insights with us. He not only introduced a wide variety of his artworks, but also spoke about his experiences abroad and his personal background. From his later dedication to public service and efforts to bring art closer to the community, we could clearly see his guiding belief throughout: “What an artist values is not applause, but the voice of the soul.” He believes that art, like breathing, is a natural expression—through painting one releases emotions and reveals the self, rather than simply using it as a means of livelihood. This sharing deeply impressed us and left us with abundant inspiration.
