Panoramic Ocean Observation: The Role of Multi-Source Remote Sensing Technologies in Earth and Ocean Sustainability
The lecture, titled "Panoramic Ocean Observation," explores the role of multiple remote sensing technologies in the sustainable development of the Earth and oceans. It begins by introducing research fields such as ocean remote sensing and satellite oceanography, then explains the concept of "Earth and Spatial Information Science," and specifically introduces the "Digital Twin Earth" concept. It also reviews numerous Earth observation satellite missions from international space organizations like JAXA, NASA, and ESA, and demonstrates the applications of satellite observation in areas such as marine heatwaves, sea surface height, ocean color, sea surface wind speed, and rainfall.
