This lecture invited the Director of the Founding Conference and International Symposium of the Taiwan Creative Arts Therapies Alliance to provide an in-depth analysis of the development and challenges of arts therapy in Taiwan from the perspective of national policy and regulatory frameworks. The speaker first reviewed the historical development of arts therapy in Taiwan, noting that the profession has long been rooted in education, special education, and early intervention. However, due to the strict limitations imposed by the Psychologists Act on the scope of therapeutic practice, many professionally trained arts therapists face systemic barriers regarding professional qualifications, the use of professional titles, and their basic right to work.
