Humanities and Arts Lectures

The relationship between art and sociology explores how artworks are seen as social products, and their creation, production, circulation, and consumption within social, cultural, economic, and political contexts. A sociological perspective focuses on how artists, the art market, and art institutions are influenced by social structures, and how art reflects and shapes social values and culture. This interdisciplinary research also encompasses the role of art in promoting social participation, community development, and social change.
