Beitou Zhongxin New Village and Banqiao 435 Art Zone Walking Tour and Visit
• Guided Tour of Beitou Zhongxin New Village: Learn about the spatial and cultural value of Taiwan’s only fully preserved hot-spring military dependents’ village, and understand its significance as a “Ministry of National Defense Preserved Military Village Area” and “Historic Settlement.” • Military Village Preservation Workshop: Students participate in discussions in the Glass House, focusing on issues of village preservation and adaptive reuse, and proposing strategies for social communication. • Field Study at the Banqiao 435 Art Zone: Examine cases of spatial transformation following the demolition of military dependents’ villages, and understand the process of transitioning “from a military village to an arts and cultural park.” • Synthesis Discussion: Students reflect on the balance between cultural preservation and urban reuse, compare their insights with the Zhongxin New Village case, and propose recommendations for future revitalization.
