The trend of integrating AI into sports venues for intelligent management

Mr. Yao Zong-you, CEO of Yunbo International, delivered a speech titled "Trends in Integrating AI Smart Management in Sports Venues," which completely transformed my perspective on the future of the sports industry. Drawing on his hands-on experience managing Taiwan's largest sports facility, the "Taipei Youth Park Sports and Leisure Park," CEO Yao provided a lucid analysis of the challenges and turning points facing traditional venues. He emphasized that future sports venues will no longer merely be spaces that provide equipment; rather, they will evolve into smart entities capable of "thinking" and "interacting." A key insight mentioned in the speech was the shift in modern exercise demands. People have moved from the traditional approach of "training by feel" to a pursuit of "quantifiable progress." Traditional teaching models, which rely on manual roll calls and a coach's subjective experience, can no longer satisfy modern consumers who prioritize safety and data. The AI solutions demonstrated by CEO Yao directly address this demand, leveraging technology to visualize training effectiveness and ensure venue management is evidence-based. Regarding the "Intelligent Energy-Saving Control System," the CEO noted that their system captures real-time data from the weather bureau—such as sunlight, rainfall, and temperature—and integrates it with facility booking statuses to automatically adjust lighting and air conditioning. Unlike rigid timer-based switches, this system functions like a living organism, automatically regulating chillers and cooling towers based on environmental conditions and foot traffic. This not only resolves the critical energy consumption issues faced by large venues but also demonstrates how technology can assist enterprises in achieving sustainable operations. Furthermore, the application of "unmanned management" was equally impressive. Through the integration of facial recognition and EasyCards, entry and exit have become seamless, eliminating the need to queue for tickets or fumble for change. Paired with a dedicated app, everything from signing up for classes to booking courts can be handled with a single tap. Listening to these innovations, I deeply felt that this "seamless" experience is the key to increasing consumer stickiness. It frees coaches from tedious administrative tasks, allowing them to focus on instruction, while enabling consumers to enjoy more convenient services. This speech highlighted the powerful synergy between "data" and "service." The future depicted by CEO Yao is a smart ecosystem connected by AIoT; it not only enhances operational efficiency but also redefines the value of sports services.
