Mastering Gemini and NotebookLM: Ushering in a New Era of AI-Assisted Teaching. Core Objective: Enhance the digital teaching capabilities of faculty and graduate students by leveraging generative AI tools to optimize lesson plan development and learning support. This workshop focuses on two cutting-edge AI tools, guiding participants from theoretical understanding to practical application: I. Advanced Gemini Applications: 1. Beyond a chatbot—a creative partner for curriculum design. 2. Participants learn to differentiate Gemini from ChatGPT and select the optimal AI model for specific needs. II. NotebookLM: A New Experience: 1. Private Data Repositories: Learn how to feed specific teaching materials (PDFs, notes, web pages) to AI to build a customized course knowledge base. 2. Teaching Assistance: Understand how NotebookLM can support students in deep learning by distilling key learning points from complex data. This workshop successfully transformed teacher trainees from “AI observers” into “AI users.” Through NotebookLM implementation, participants learned to process vast teaching materials and transform them into structured instructional designs. This was not merely a technical workshop but an upgrade in educational thinking.
