Fundamental Principles and Theoretical Foundations of Athlete Talent Identification

This course introduces the basic principles and theoretical foundations of athlete selection, helping students understand how to choose the right athletes based on factors such as sports type, physical fitness, and psychological traits. The first section covers the fundamental theories of athlete selection, including the selection process, methods, and tools. It explains how to determine the physical requirements for each sport and outlines the selection standards for various sports (such as endurance, speed, agility, and strength). The second section delves into the practical applications of athlete selection, discussing the use of various testing tools and equipment (e.g., physical fitness tests, psychological assessments, genetic testing) to help students make informed and data-driven decisions. The final section includes case studies that demonstrate how to apply the theoretical principles in real-world athlete selection and development planning. The course emphasizes the integration of theory and practical skills, enabling students to effectively select and develop athletes, enhancing the efficiency and scientific approach to sports talent identification.
