Tourism Product Planning and ESG Trends

This lecture invited Associate Director Chen Ya-hui of Grand Dynasty Travel to speak on "Tourism Product Planning and Trends." Grand Dynasty Travel focuses on student educational travel, covering domestic and overseas itineraries such as Japan, Korea, and even Europe and America for school exchanges, and receives Japanese students for activities in Taiwan. The expert shared planning principles: considering activity targets, seasonal attractions, budget, customer needs, and goals. Regarding safety, legality and environmental appropriateness were emphasized to avoid risks. For student group characteristics, itinerary design needs educational and cultural significance, rather than pure entertainment and sightseeing; accommodation and attractions must accommodate large numbers of people, with performance bonds paid before the trip and review and collection after the trip. This model not only promotes cross-cultural learning but also cultivates students' global perspective. For corporate travel, the expert emphasized that the goal is to build employee cohesion, enhance interaction, and family identity, often integrating parent-child activities. Furthermore, it innovatively incorporates ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) concepts to promote sustainable tourism and low-carbon travel, such as farming experiences, Indigenous culture exploration, and forest/ocean activities. These experiences not only enhance participants' environmental awareness but also promote economic development through local consumption, contributing to the SDGs. For example, choosing low-carbon transportation and supporting local agricultural products to reduce carbon footprints; socially, integrating Indigenous culture preservation to promote inclusive growth; and in governance, ensuring supply chain transparency and ethical standards. ESG integration is not just a trend but a key to industrial innovation, capable of enhancing brand value and customer loyalty. This lecture deepened the understanding of leisure sports management, emphasizing that tourism products need to integrate education, safety, and sustainability elements to create positive social impacts. For students, it provided practical inspiration, such as planning needing to solve customer pain points and innovate differentiation; ESG application helps with future industrial competition. Overall, this lecture not only strengthened environmental and cultural awareness but also encouraged innovative thinking, worthy of application in leisure tourism management and policy formulation.
