Guide Explanation and Route Planning - Beitou as an Example
Zhu Xiaoci, guide of Beitou Cultural Foundation, gave a lecture on “Guide Explanation and Route Planning - Beitou as an Example”, bringing in-depth sharing of guided tour practice and local route design. Zhu Xiaoci, who has been a guide since 2006, uses Beitou’s rich hot springs, cultural and ecological resources as an example to introduce how to become an excellent guide and plan leisure itineraries that incorporate SDGs for leisure industry operations. She emphasizes opening preparation, such as clean manners, friendly greetings, and vivid opening remarks; Language expressions should be clear, subdued, and avoid hasty; when faced with questions, focus on answering, do not ridicule or counter-question, make good use of soft words to say heavy words and white lies, avoid political and religious topics. On-site response requires on-site survey beforehand. The second half focuses on route planning for Beitou, which needs to consider the object, number of people, time, funding and demand. Zhu Xiaoci listed a variety of itineraries: hot spring culture such as exploring the source, Beitou tranquility; cultural ecology such as old street swallow hunting, Jurassic fern silver light alley, Danfeng Mountain tour, Guandu water bank, five points stream earth embankment, Beitou farm; cultural landscape such as old street market, alley time, Guizi pit ceramics, eighteen parts water, charcoal kiln green life These routes are integrated into SDGs such as quality education (cultural transmission), good health (spa healing), industrial innovation (route design), and sustainable communities (ecological protection). She balances needs and reality by emphasizing familiarity with the history of attractions, traffic regulations, accessibility arrangements, local cuisine and souvenirs. The presentation deepened understanding of recreational sports management and emphasized that tours not only impart knowledge but also create interactive experiences and sustainability value. For students, providing practical inspiration, such as planning needs to pay attention to pain point resolution and differentiation;integration into SDGs helps to innovate routes and improve community well-being. Overall, this talk reinforces navigational skills and local awareness and encourages application in future leisure tourism design to create an urban oasis of physical and mental healing and is worth promoting.
