Leisure activity planning and design of national tourism SDGs
Hongxi Travel Agency's Assistant Manager Chen delivered a lecture on "Leisure Activity Planning and SDGs Design for Domestic Tourism," focusing on itinerary design techniques and combining leisure activity planning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to showcase the professionalism and social responsibility of the tourism industry. As a benchmark enterprise in Taiwan's educational travel and group tourism sector, Hongxi Travel Agency shared its rich practical experience, explaining how to integrate SDG principles into domestic tourism to design itineraries that are both fun and sustainable. The lecture began by introducing the basic principles of leisure activity planning, including tourist needs analysis, itinerary pacing control, risk assessment, and cost estimation. The speaker particularly emphasized itinerary design techniques, such as the logical connection of attractions, accurate calculation of travel time, and the integration of interactive elements to enhance the participant experience. For example, in designing domestic group tours, it is necessary to consider the needs of different age groups, ensuring that leisure activities are not limited to sightseeing but also include educational and relaxation functions. This section shows that a high-quality itinerary is not simply a collection of attractions, but requires creativity and meticulous planning to create a memorable experience. The second half of the lecture delved into "SDGs Design for Domestic Tourism." The speaker pointed out that the tourism industry is highly relevant to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In the practice of domestic tourism, sustainability can be achieved through low-carbon transportation, supporting the local economy, and reducing plastic use. For example, ecotourism itineraries can include local farmers' restaurants, avoid overdevelopment of tourist attractions, and strengthen tourists' environmental awareness education. This not only boosts the local economy but also contributes to environmental protection. Hongxi Travel Agency's practical examples in educational travel, such as leading students to explore Taiwan's nature and culture while integrating SDG education, fully demonstrate that tourism is an effective vehicle for promoting sustainable development.
