Interdisciplinary Digital Humanities: Research and Teaching Experiences

This faculty development workshop features Professor Lin Shu-hui presenting on “Interdisciplinary Digital Humanities: Research and Teaching Experiences.” With expertise in Taiwanese literature, Professor Lin shared rich case studies and database resources from a Taiwanese literary research perspective. She addressed three key areas: enhancing students' collection and research of Taiwanese literary historical materials through database retrieval; utilizing modern digital achievements to uncover peripheral contextual materials for tracing Taiwanese literary development; and future prospects for developing Taiwanese literary history databases. The content included: “National Digital Archives of Cultural Heritage,” “Academia Sinica's Electronic Chinese Classics,” “Applications of Classical Prose Databases,” “Applications of Stele Rubbing Databases,” “Applications of Poetry and Opera Songbook Databases,” “Applications of Modern Literature and Culture Databases,” and “Applications of Taiwanese Literature Peripheral Context Databases.” She also elucidated the spirit and purpose of digital humanities research.
